3 Feng Shui Principles you can Implement at Home

Feng Shui is not a decor style or belief system. While Feng Shui is practiced as a business in Asia for construction of houses and offices, it has to be seen as a larger body of knowledge. It deals with all living things and addresses how human beings relate to the greater realms of plants, animals, water, rivers, mountains, and generally to the cosmos.

I practice traditional Chinese Form School and Compass School Feng Shui. Less based on myth or superstition and more solidly proven as an effective strategy, compass school feng shui is similar to acupuncture for buildings. I locate and energize your home’s life aspiration areas based on actual compass directions and with the help of the Bagua (also referred to as Pa Kua which is the Feng Shui energy map). Each compass direction relates to one of the eight sections of the Bagua (or Pa Kua), which is used to represent the fundamental principles of life such as health, wealth, family and more. These principles are interrelated and represent the balance of Yin and Yang.

Feng Shui Knowledge:

Ch’i – (or Qi -pronounced chee) Vital life force (or bioenergetic functionality) in living organisms and the environment. For millennia, this energy has been called ch’i by the Chinese, ki or hadoby by the Japanese, prana in ancient India and mana by the Kahunas from Hawaii and the Tsalagi natives of North America.
Yin & Yang – manifestations of energy polarity within the cyclic movements of the human energy field. Two primal opposing but complementary forces found in all things in the universe.
The 5 Elements: The five elements wood, fire, water, earth and metal are mutually constructive and also mutually destructive. For example, wood is positively enhanced by water whereas water destroys fire. These two parallel processes of creation and destruction can be seen as two circles or cycles, a cycle of creation, and a cycle of destruction.

ENERGIZE YOUR WEALTH LIFE ASPIRATION AREA

The life aspiration area that corresponds to the concept of wealth and prosperity is located in the southeast of a house (or room). By determining the exact south-eastern location, one can energize the area with its main element which is wood (a healthy plant works best). As metal is the diminishing element for wood, metal should be avoided in the southeast point of the building.

ENERGIZE YOUR LOVE AND RELATIONSHIP LIFE ASPIRATION AREA

The life aspiration area that corresponds to the concept of love and relationships is located in the southwest of a house (or room). By determining the exact southwestern location, one can energize the area with its main element earth (for example in the form of a rock or crystal). Since wood is the diminishing element for earth, wood (especially living plants) should be avoided in the southwest point of the building.

The life aspiration area that corresponds to the concept of family is located in the East of a house (or room). By determining the exact Eastern location, one can energize the area with its main element, also wood. Because metal is the diminishing element for wood, metal should be avoided in the east point of the building.
